It's just great pop music. I like Charli XCX a lot too, and the whole bubblegum bass scene with SOPHIE, Kero Kero Bonito, and so on. But CRJ hits a special spot. She sounds like the way nostalgic people think the 80s sounded like, except even better.

Like 17y here checking in. According to last.fm, these days I listen to Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Elliott Smith, Nick Drake, Hüsker Dü, Cocteau Twins, The Blue Nile, and Carly Rae Jepsen. But sometimes skramz too. Like Haikus, SSRE, Jeromes Dream, Envy, & crust like Light Bearer, Downfall of Gaia...

yeah, I suppose. we're usually only a bit avant-garde. but this collaboration turned out quite avant-garde. I do find these sorts of things pretty exciting, so it was nice to have the opportunity.
