Yeah how dare I let people know who I am. I guess I'll own up so the screamo jocks don't give me another wedgie.Pete > You wrote: I'd also really appreciate it if we never had another one of these wearing a cardigan to the internet introduction threads again.

Re: Introduction/Dan Aykroyd's House/The Diamond Stretch
Maybe if there was a stickied "Introduce yourself" thread (like on pretty much every other forum in the history of smooth-running, sense-making forums) it would make it easier for us new members to kinda get a feel for the forums instead of just having to jump right in like a confused child who's just joining a conversation. We know our shit, we've been doing the whole music thing for a while, we just want to get involved. Thanks.

I think you're under the impression anyone gives a shit.gclow wrote: Yeah how dare I let people know who I am. I guess I'll own up so the screamo jocks don't give me another wedgie.
Yeah, that's a good idea. A big long thread that no one will read any posts in other than the one they made themselves. Any other tips, oh great messageboardologist?MurderByDefLeppard wrote:Maybe if there was a stickied "Introduce yourself" thread (like on pretty much every other forum in the history of smooth-running, sense-making forums) it would make it easier for us new members to kinda get a feel for the forums instead of just having to jump right in like a confused child who's just joining a conversation. For guys who claim to "know their shit" (lol) you sure sound like a bunch of annoying 18th wave newjack kids barely out of high school who read about screamo on the internet. Maybe I'm wrong and maybe I'm jumping to conclusions, but so far I've yet to see anything that would make me think otherwise.

A 22 year old man posts a thread about his established show space, his band, and includes a little hello section and you've got some stick up your ass acting like you're in an exclusive club?Pete > You wrote:I think you're under the impression anyone gives a shit.gclow wrote: Yeah how dare I let people know who I am. also, when he was referring to "we know our shit" I think he meant their involvement in DIY and hardcore?
Re: Introduction/Dan Aykroyd's House/The Diamond Stretch
I think you're under the impression that you and ONLY you know what is best for the forum and the community itself. I think most would agree that an introduction thread would be pretty fucking useful for knowing who offers what resources.Pete > You wrote:

You'd think LORD OF THE SKRAMZ FORUM would want you help out the DIY community. Here I thought I was the biggest elitist prick in all the land.

I feel like this thread is far more useful than most of the threads on cmhwak. Maybe we should have another mulder update thread or a thread about fight fair.

That's pretty much par for the course. Nothing to brag about. Or make stupid threads about. Let's see, 22 now means he would have been about 12-14 when the bands he reads about on the internet were active. Must have been one cool kid back in the day.clayt0n wrote:A 22 year old man posts a thread about his established show space, his band, and includes a little hello section and you've got some stick up your ass acting like you're in an exclusive club?

I'm questioning the nature of having to say such a ridiculous statement in the first place. Who says that? People with unwarranted senses of self importance, that's who. Nicely crosses over with introduction thread types.clayt0n wrote:also, when he was referring to "we know our shit" I think he meant their involvement in DIY and hardcore?

Special baby thinks that by being on the internet, he is protected from criticism. HOW DARE I?! Clearly I'm not under that impression, but I hope the hilarity of your hypocrisy in immediately following that statement with your own "what's best for the 'community' (LOL!)" diktat.
Help the DIY community by being lame douchebags, yay. Go help it somewhere else.MurderByDefLeppard wrote:You'd think LORD OF THE SKRAMZ FORUM would want you help out the DIY community. Here I thought I was the biggest elitist prick in all the land.
I don't mean this in any sort of bralick, braggadocio way; you are so far away from anything elite, to actually know where you stand might actually case some sort of psychologically induced physically pain. Again, I feel the need to preface this by saying this isn't some "I've been doing this forever" comparative nonsense because this isn't what it is about; I really do just need to use that to clarify, but I've been doing this for years. In those years I have seen elitism so high and so ridiculous and so beyond anything that the epistemological problem presented would be so great that language itself lacks the ability to be able to integrate concepts from that sensory material into words.
This is a pretty easy and laid back forum. Just chill. I find you lame. Not the end of the world. I hope you can all just deal with this and move on.
Re: Introduction/Dan Aykroyd's House/The Diamond Stretch
Pete I'm still confused where you got wrapped up in thinking they said something about being into screamo for years? You came at Greg for absolutely no reason (I guess except the fact you felt it unnecessary he mention he HAS A SHOW SPACE FOR TOURING BANDS WHO NEED HELP) and then fed off their inability to defend their scremz_cred. Sorry we all weren't born earlier so we can TRUELY enjoy this music.
