is there a movie scarier than the shining?

can anyone think of any movie that was legitimately scarier than the shining? poltergeist 2 runs pretty close (the braces scene particularly, and the fact that henry kane is responsible for making me not trust any senior citizen ever again.)

The exorcist creeped me out when I was a 8. That's the closest i've ever come to being scared from a movie.

i guess, horror films don't really scare me though, eraserhead just creeped me out. you should check out begotten, watch it in a pitch black room on a big tv. it's got some freaky ass imagery in it. i can't really say much about scary films because i'm more into like, troma style films, completely over the top gory b movie shit.

I have never been scared by a movie. I would like to though, it seems fun.

I don't really get scared of movies anymore, but as a kid the two scariest movies for me were Child's Play and It. I had an older sister who had dolls all over her room, so I was always creeped as shit they were going to come kill me. It played to my #1 childhood fear of clowns.

ever watch the tenant? I find it pretty damn scary, not in the same sense but it's pretty disturbing as some parts of the shining.
