Not bad, really like some parts/riffs. I think their main downfall, and the reason I can't full enjoy them, is the vocals completely suck.

It was okay, not really into it.
What the fuck were they saying though? Sounds like something completely unimportant.

I've always assumed all of their lyrics were about traversing through liquid. Song was alright, I'm not gonna listen to all 9 minutes of it though, I could listen to better bands entire discogs in 9 minutes.

Another reason I can't get into them. They try to create these huge concepts with their lyrics that are just completely lost on me.

i mean, it's like they took 7 years to write the same record. it isn't bad, but not hype-worthy.

So the first 4 songs have released. I'm just listening now but the first song seems a lot more focused and a lot less spazzy than the one on NPR. Of course, it sounds like As the Roots Undo part 2, so I don't think it's going to change anyone's opinion on the band.

I for one dig it, but I am an unapologetic fan of the band.

i'm enjoying this but probably because i'm high right now.
never really understood why this band has been such a lightning rod, i was into their first album when it came out but haven't listened much since then. they're mad pretentious and ridiculous but that can be fun sometimes.

the real question is why is this on npr?? are they really an 'influential post-hardcore' band? is npr being gradually infiltrated by screamo kids? that would be great. i listen to npr a lot and have had more than enough of soul-searching news pieces and cheesy blues or whatever. they seem to play some pretty hip indie stufffor their bumpers though
