I AM EXTREMELY BUMMED about the quality of skate shoes these days. I've actually just always been bummed out about them because I've been paying $50+ for shoes since I was 11 hahacrockett5o5o wrote:I back those statements soo hard! You've got to give it up to the guy he basically invented street skating. Also the dudes pressure flips are insane, he just flips the board so many times so effortlessly. Is anyone as bummed as I am with the skate shoes these days? It seems as if all they are making these days are gum soles and those do not last long at all, I just got the Nike Eric Kostons lows and its surprising how comfortable they are with how little material they have.plasticsmilerecords wrote:He really has a good perspective on life and he's probably the wisest skateboarder on planet Earth. I have mad respect for the guy.

Wanted to get into long boarding for the summer time as a hobby & hopefully continue it during school during the fall or whatever. What are some beginner dos and don'ts? What kind of board should I buy if I want to do some real casual shit like cruising and free riding?

Naw man I was kidding. Do whatever the fuck you like. Unfortunately skaters aren't the most accepting bunch. So watch yourself on them streets. I'd say any sector 9 board has decent wood and a complete usually has the perfect durometer wheels to compliment the board. Hope that helps.
Also whenever Rob Dyrdek comes up I see red. So thanks for that.

If you want quality, don't buy those shitty prebuilts from whatever shit shop you have in your mall. Disregard what the poster above said and never touch a Sector 9 deck. I personally skate a Landyachtz and it has been nothing but beautiful to me for four years. I highly recommend shopping at Daddiesboardshop.com. If you want to cruise, get a longer board and some big wheels.fukimdeadagain wrote:Wanted to get into long boarding for the summer time as a hobby & hopefully continue it during school during the fall or whatever. Stouts are always great for cruising. Get one with a tail if your interested in being able to "ollie" or comfortably go off curbs without worrying.

Anyone remember this gem?

Gotta love John Lydon! Plus, the music throughout the video is great! Especially the Gray Matter tracks!
