which is....?
1) how cheap/broke are you? is your time spent trying to find this worth less than the cost to buy it?
which leads into
2) going to so much trouble to NOT pay the artist... "i really like the music but i'll waste a bunch of time trying to get their shit for free rather than show it"
who cares how rich you think they are? if the product has value to you, then it should be worth something for it?
i don't know much about their distribution process in this particular instance, nor do i claim to be some kind of expert on the industry, but there's usually a bunch of people who are being supported by you coughing up a couple of bucks beyond just the band ... maybe they don't get proportional album sales translating to money in their pockets but it's an industry with non-rich people working like anyone else who would probably benefit from people continuing to pay

tear me up on not knowing shit
i'm not trying to take a moralistic stance, like "everyone better fucking pay for everything", because we all download
just saying... if you want it, you could always just make it easy and pay, and hey while you're at it, you might actually help out some people who work hard and deserve it

haha, oh okay you were serious. wow.

1.) yep, i'm pretty cheap/broke. i still don't know how much 7 euros is but i'm pretty sure i would still rather be pouring it down my gullet to numb the continual pain of being human than sending it halfway around the world to some fancy pants that went to oxford just because you, god or capitalism says i "owe" it to them. of course, sweet, sweet music accomplishes much the same effect, but you see, shoplifting beer is just a lot riskier than downloading. especially where i live... i'm practically the only cracker on my block and i'd probably get fucking shot.

2.) are you high? radiohead is one of the most successful rock bands on the planet and there are gajillions of people who have more money than me who happily go to their hideously overpriced shows, buy their albums and t-shirts, etc. good for them but you are absolutely making a moral issue out of it, and considering you admit you download this seems like a really weird instance to try to make such a case over. just because you say "i'm not really doing this!" while your'e doing it doesn't mean you're not actually doing it (see also: "i don't mean to be a dick, but..." "i'm not racist, but..." etc)

also, waste a bunch of time? i posted this thread and an hour later i had the album. done. you know what seems like a waste of time compared to getting a free album while making dinner? working. work sucks. don't know if you've had to deal with that one yet.

LEMON OUT.

lol, you asked, so i gave you a reason?

1) i'll drink to that :)

2) is it morally wrong? yeah kind of... doing it anyway.
i think i tried to make some point here about infrastructure + trickle down economics of musicians (even big ones) getting paid helps the little guy (distributors + dudes who work at the store having a job to sell it), but whatever... i'm not racist but... http://urlybits.com/2010/04/racism-just-in-case/

yay capitalism

yeah... i'm not sure what you're trying to say either.

technological and economic trends like those which have brought record stores and labels into decline is an event of our collective conditions, which dictates individual choice: not a sum total of individual changes made as rational, free agents. so i'm not sure if "yay capitalism" was sarcastic or what the thing abotut racism was supposed to mean...

I dig it a lot. The first half sounds just like Eraser and the second half is just chilled Radiohead.
My name is Daniel!

Band is overrated as fuck, but still decent. Still haven't listened to this album, though I enjoyed the single with the video of Thom Yorke's pretentious dancing.
