2005-2007 was a weird time everywhere. So many kids hopped on the 'skramwagon.' But half the time it wasn't skram. For every 1 person who would listen to the iwrotehaikusaboutcannibalisminyouryearbook stuff with me, another 20 would rep sceney sing scream bullshit. I don't even remember the bands, but half of them are still peddling to 12 year olds.

So true. For a while there it seemed like that was the most popular stuff going, and now good luck getting me to remember a single band from that era.

It was around this time when I was in high school (the Myspace heyday, I was a junior in '04) that I noticed the word "screamo" being thrown around at EVERYTHING. I think it still happens to a certain extent, but a lot of the girls (and guys) - and fuck, even myself - were jumping on that fashion wagon. Swept black hair, red streaks and tight jeans. So much girl action though, fuck.

However, I didn't know a single person into Saetia. I got into Usurp Synapse, pageninetynine, Reversal of Man, more of the borderline emo violence stuff first. If I remember the name correctly, everyone was into stuff like Drop Dead Gorgeous with breakdowns and calling it screamo.

Yeah, I mean it was kind of cool having your own kind of music that wasn't polluted by a terrible fanbase, but in those days it kind of didn't matter because everyone lumped them together as the same thing anyway. In a way I'm glad skramz is a bit more well known these days just so I don't have to deal with that haha.

Although I will jam early Saosin all fucking day and there's nothing anyone can do to stop me.

yeah, the town i went to high school in was so oblivious to screamo/skramz/emoviolence/grind/etc
that i didn't even know the name for it when i started listening to it
i thought all the bands on robotic empire were just classified as "punk" lol

dude I am the fucking skram foreseer and I will always rep hot topic scene music

where are my men Eric and Finn to back me up on this

I listen to every genre in the world

right now I'm listening to Ethel Meserve. next up in my playlist is Saetia. next up is Alexisonfire. next up is some Japanese hardcore techno. none of this is in any way a joke.

edit:
I just replaced Saetia with Bal-Sagoth. I'm dead serious.

this is not necessarily a good thing, but respectable nonetheless.
