i don't understand these intricacies. I know Snowing doesn't scream, but I thought they were a hardcore band, and clearly everyone here knows about them.

if snowing's discography only consisted of their song sam rudich, they'd be fine. but alas, that's not their only song.

and as for a non-"pretentious'' response (and i do not think i, or anyone else on here, was being pretentious at all for the record) you can view this thread for the entire board's opinion on topshelf-esque bands:

google defines pretentious as "attempting to impress by affecting greater importance, talent, culture, etc., than is actually possessed." so i think you're not using the word pretentious correctly.
