its funny you guys would mention suzuki cars because my first car purchase was nearly a 2008 suzuki sx4 after suzuki had released concept designs for a wrc version of the sx4. out of the dealership they don't look like too much, basically just an inline 4 and all wheel drive in a hatchback but the wrc models look crazy nice
although, personally... i admire the dual surface rally racing the most out of any organized racing really, so put me into any on of these cars and i could die a happy man.
its all in spanish but there are some great photos of some peugeot rally cars (personal favorite because i refuse to get on the subaru bandwagon even though they have been the most dominant team of the last decade...)

With plates like that I'm surprised he doesn't get a lot of dudes. Then again, "snkhndlr" would probably work better for dudes.

Subaru hasn't won a WRC since 1997. Agree about the dad car though.
Since you got that Suzuki (which is actually a Fiat in disguise!), check out Road Race Motorsports for parts. They're the only place I know of off the top of my head that has stuff for SX4s.
pete you are so right about the last decade of wrc, but what was more suprising was that Citroën has come out on top every single year since 2004. thats a pretty fucking incredible record they have going so kudos to them (and Sebastien Loeb). as a child i vicariously lived a rally racers life through sim games. god bless the gran turismo and forza series.
and no garrett i wouldn't suck anyones dick for a subaru hatchback thats for god damn certain, and just the fact that you would bring up that particular car in this thread is an abomination of all things holy... but only for this reason:
sti wagon: Power comes from a turbocharged and intercooled 2.5-liter Boxer engine producing 265 horsepower and 244 lb-ft of torque. The WRX Hatchback comes mated exclusively to a five-speed manual transmission
sti sedan: The power from the 2.5-liter boxer four is prodigious: 305 horsepower at 6,000 rpm along with 290 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm. The only transmission is a six-speed manual.
i know what you're argument is but this thread isnt for considering cargo man! if we had money for cars like these we could definitely afford an econoline van or some suv to haul people/gear around commmonnnnn. that being said.... i would drive a subaru no doubt, boxer engines are sexy with that lower center of gravity teamed with four wheel drive AND newer versions come with a driver controlled center differential so you can fine tune torque to each axel... shit i'm getting a big soft one just thinking about it, but i just dont think the higher curb weight/downgraded power of the hatchback would be worth it for me if i was looking into an sti. if someone threw it into my lap sure but that's never going to happen. although, just to step on my own toes here... i will say that for some reason i've really liked the progression of the Legacy series Subura has had going, but i guess that would be best suited for a sunday driver thread
hate to break it to you guys but i am a dad so that sti hatchback is one hell of a step up from my mpv minivan and franco i was just saying that so you had an excuse to suck my dick. not like you needed one or anything.

If vitiligojackson says it's good, it's almost def good.
Despite its power advantage, I actually think the STi was slightly slower than the WRX. I could be wrong, but I remember something like this in the magazines.
Anyway, what is everyone else rolling in? Currently I drive a 1998 EJ7 Civic, as it was the "best car I could afford at the time." I used to hate Hondas, and though I still regard my car as a total bitch car, I've come to understand their appeal. Great build quality and they're like goddamn lego cars, you can build one out of junk parts you pull from a yard.
Current mods:
front shock tower brace
lowering springs
Skunk2 short shifter
AEM short ram
Sumitomo HRT 200 tires on the stock HX wheels
debadged grill
tints
CD head unit
It is both rusty and sun damaged and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Just to be a typical Honda guy, here is my list of planned mods that will probably never happen:
B16A2 engine and transmission swap
LSD in that transmission
engine blueprinted, balanced, and port matched
some manner of forced induction (got to research this more) and injector upgrades to support it
CAI
better springs and shocks, maybe coilovers
full custom exhaust, but with a stock B-series '99-'00 Si muffler because I find modern sport compact mufflers to be annoying in appearance and sound and completely non-functional in terms of freeing up HP
rear anti-roll bar
hard rubber bushings
best rotor/caliper combo that will fit under the HX wheels without machining
rear disk conversion
stainless brake lines
upgraded pads all around
