I once played this show: http://www.facebook.com/events/191439537557458/

supposedly set up by Brian. The most fun show I've ever played. That's all I have to say

Whoa wait a second Mike . I didn't supposedly set that show up. I 100% set that show up by myself, the only other person that helped me in any way was Cory Brim who graciously allowed me to host a show in his living room. I'm super stoked it was the most fun show you ever played!

Come back to Austin and I'll set you up another rad show if you're currently playing in a band.

Haha I'm no longer with The Saddest Landscape (a blessing I suppose?) but my new current band, which is still starting out, will hopefully come down for SXSW next year. Hopefully we can play then :D

I felt like such a dick that one of my ex-bandmates, who will remain nameless, got all pissy and made the lineup change just so he could play closer in the lineup to Touche Amore. UGH. Again, I still feel bad about that.

That show was FUCKING AMAZING!!!! I ate so many black bean tacos that day, holy shit thanks for bringing back all the memories. And also thanks Brian for booking that show, didn't saddest landscape play twice that day? I remember not sticking around for TA, that was a crazy house show, like 13 bands or something?
love yourself, no one else will

Ok, basically we got to the house right around the time that For Want Of or The Reptilian played, if memory serves me. And one of the guys from TSL made a stink about switching set times and I remember The Reptilian had to move their amps for the band after them, and then move their amps BACK (in order for us to use their gear) or something like that, and it was a HUGE hassle because of how small the kitchen space was. It was almost two years ago so the details are a little fuzzy but I remember some people (mainly The Reptilian and the E!E! dudes) were a little agitated at us and I was apologizing profusely for how arrogant one person in my band was acting.

But yeah, we played a pizza place, I can't remember the name, about an hour later with Sleep Bellum Sonno. One of the guys who worked the bar there made me a drink called "the saddest landscape" which was one part whisky, a thousand parts tears. :D

I don't think I've ever been drunker in my life than my three days at SXSW so all details are very fuzzy to me. My highlight of Texas was seeing Travis from Piebald doing acoustic Piebald covers at Red 7. That or seeing Youth Pictures of Flourence Henderson earlier that day.
