Are all pushing the limits on hardcore/screamo and all get thumbs up from me for making the new sound happen in 2013.
I would have expected you to rag on loma cuz they are too contemporary/ have inferior beards/ not troo skramz
I like ALL of those bands because they have a contemporary sound, Loma Prieta included. And as far as troo skramz goes, Loma seems to be about as troo as they come in 2013. I don't really understand the beard reference, but back in the day Val and Sean used to both have some pretty gnarly beards. Val and Brian are looking pretty dapper these days.

My friend's band just digitally released their Demo:

I wish there were more bands with this not too overdone/modern sound.

Phil - I got to see Lich and Ressurectionist when I was in the UK two years ago and both were outstanding. Trainwreck toured out here a few years ago and blew me away as well. Are any of those bands still active? I'll check out the rest of those bands you listed.

let me just go ahead and put one thing to rest right here in this thread: beards are not RIDE BIKES, nor will they ever be.

I'm pretty sure all of them are active, I believe all of them have had a release within the last year or have one coming out by the end of this year. Rha. is the only one that might not be.

I can't stop listening to Carrion Spring, Capacities, and Mahria. Carrion spring's full length blows me away everytime I listen to it, though I'm into the noise tracks, the guitar work is amazing.

Gas up yr hearse! - The higher pitched vocals will take a bit for me to get used to. Musically it's chaotic and interesting though.

Woglake - The song writing seems nicely done. There are some very intense moments that use some good dynamics. But the recording quality makes it tough to enjoy fully

The truth about dreaming - Reminded me a little bit of Funeral Diner. The recording quality is a little muffled and some of the guitar tones are a bit too tinny sounding. I don't love it, but I don't hate it.

Anne hero - It has a nice blend of Botch-esque guitar parts, almost like Botch on crack. Short songs, but they do enough in their time span. Good recording quality. Pretty sweet.

Old soul - This is fucking awesome. It has a totally epic quality to it. I would imagine this drummer being totally exhausted after playing these songs.

Yusuke -If the drums were better recorded I think I would like this more. It's hard to really get the full experience on a recording like this.
thanks for the kind words! i'd be too stoked to play with y'all on tour. hopefully tyler gets that all figured out soon. we just recorded for our coma regalia split and we got way better again.

also, anne hero and yusuke rule. yusuke just rerecorded this stuff and it sounds tons better.
