sry this is kinda TL;DR status

i'm not sure so much the bands i listed are specific influences. i was just giving examples. but dude its so painfully obvious that he draws influence from bands from the 80s new wave movement. at least in his newish/newer stuff anyway "cherish the light years" and "god made the world". also "a little death to laugh" and "oceans with no end". i the deep baritone uttered vocals;the catchy synth lines. the depressing/poppy soundscapes/hooks. even though he's really positive and doesn't mean his lyrics to be depressing they sure can come off that way. the all black clothing and sunglasses at all times. cold cave didn't initially start out with that kind of sound. but wes is always changing the sound of that project. i know he recently went back to doing everything himself. like on "god made the world". which is pretty insane if you consider the fact that he only has one hand. i never cared much for the hardcore bands he was in (american nightmare which used to be give up the ghost, some girls,xo skeletons was kinda cool). but i always admired his song writing. regardless cold cave is fucking genius. its finally something where he gets 100% creative control. dude check out new order's "brotherhood" they are an amazing band seriously. they are the same dudes from joy division after ian (lead singer of joy) killed himself. also i really think you would did this dude nick harte has a project called shocking pinks.

Oh of course. And the variety in his material is something I really enjoy. But I'll definitely check out the two you mentioned, thanks

Damn man. That was uncalled for
yea this guy is just to elite to give any fucks. he's in a band guys and they tour :o . so you know he's obviously much better than every single one of us in here.
to brokenbeat:
You sure do have me pin pointed bro guy, I'm just one big ole elitist dude who is just way cooler than all other dudes. I actually really like most everyone on this bored because most everyone on here likes to joke around and most people don't immediately get butt hurt when some one makes a silly post as a follow up to a response like "oh I guess I'm a poserrr". Grow up bro guy. I don't know how me being in a band has anything to do with anything? Being in a touring band isn't a big deal. I guess you feel like it is?

yo contrastedrecords didn't mean to make you bummed. Your post immediately made think of what teens say when you ask them "what type of music do you listen to" and they answer "I like everything but country and rap" truth be told I probably said that when I was younger.

I love The Protomen, The Megas, Anamanaguchi, Starscream... I'm a huge fan of music in the video game scene.

I'm a big fan of Thursday.

I've been getting into shoegaze, I've always like My Bloody Valentine, but more recently I've been listening to a chiptune/shoegaze band called The Depreciation Guild.

The Aquabats.

Some bands I like that aren't necessarily favorites:

Dance Gavin Dance

The Smashing Pumpkins

Les Savy Fav

Um..other stuff probably, too. I can't think of much else at the moment.

DGD is top skramz, obviously.

Also that's cool you like the Aquabats, it's not normally my thing but they're just so fucking good at writing catchy songs. Stuck In A Movie is seriously stuck in my head at least once a month.
