They are so bad I couldn't stress it enough. My bandmates and I only listen to them whenever we want something to make fun of, it never gets old.

So we agreed to play to that show just for the heck of it. Wrong move. The only time I really had fun was during our set...We're the last one to play though. The agony of waiting for your turn and sitting through an entire spectacle of epic fail bands. . . :?
I also thought we're supposed to have a say in when we get to play provided we were fucking headlining that show. Not even a single mention in that poster that we were selling CDs. We just wanted to play in the middle. I just hate it when I have to play when people want to go home. A lot of them actually already did by the time we played. Also take note that they didn't have keyboard stands and had to bend over like they're taking it in the ass because their MIDI CONTROLLERS (not actual synths) were placed on fucking monobloc chairs.

Not nearly as band as that one time before Mia joined when we had to play to ONE DUDE. That was hilarious. We decided to fuck around and do splits on stage (our old bass player could actually do that), do power metal back to back bass and guitar wankery but only because we didn't care anymore. I was doing death metal vocals the whole time.

We went straight for the nearest gas station and ended up having more fun mocking the whole situation than actually playing.

For me it was seeing La Dispute on tour with Alexisonfire, Trash Talk, and Therefore I Am. La Dispute was great and got on the floor a few times and all that. They were also really nice. but the two bands after them were playing generic hardcore and there was just a bunch of kids stage diving and "dancing".

Yeah didnt like that.

Honestly, stagedivers ruin everything for me. . . especially when some dude twice/thrice my size decides that I look like a landing pad to him and maul me out of nowhere. It's not fun.

The only shows that have ever sucked IMO are the ones that I have witnessed at venues because even when things go horribly wrong at a SO Cal DIY backyard show it's always fun. No matter what it's always fun.

I saw Portugal the Man with Fear Before and Poison the Well, Portugal the Man went on first and it was a total snooze, such a boring band that I just left, I was planning on coming back for the other bands but I just got tired of waiting. The other time I saw I AM Ghost (I love this band for some reason), A Static Lullaby and Bring Me The Horizon was okay until the headliner (A Static Lullaby) played. There were only around 24 people there for them while the other two bands had HUGE mega crowds for them and it was easy to see why. They were really mean to the audience and were bad live.

bump for lulz

i saw plot to destroy the effile tower... horrible. i was so disappointed, they were on tour and played a really really crummy set. i stayed because i liked the band a lot but really regretted it after i got home.

also

i saw daughters when i was like 13, one of the BEST shows i ever went to, they played with melt banana and the day before this particular show they played in a kitchen in some house right outside of town. they performance was so fucking rock star/cock star, i never saw anything like that before other than in old cheesy music videos. the singer was a huge asshole, i ate it up. they played their set twice, forwards then backwards hahaha took like 15 mins. they did those weird noises live which i also really liked (hardcore fanboi moment going on....) and everything sounded pretty dead on. melt banana was also amazing, cant forget that. ironically, i saw them years and albums later right when i moved to austin, like the same week. i thought, hey why not check this out for shits and giggles. they played with two bands i never heard of at the time called Russian circles and Young widows. fucking trash, i didnt care for the other two bands and didnt pay much attention to them, but when daughters got on.. man biggest boner killer ever. they had no energy and it was like seeing a totally different band. sound guy also kinda ruined it too, had the bass up wayy too much and you couldnt hear the guitar. i left. but afterwards i thought it was alright, that was the 4th time i saw them and defiantly the last. the first two times were epic and fun, the last two were just plain bad.
love yourself, no one else will

too many times have i walked to a noise/acoustic show, watched a set or two, and walked home. tweaking nobs is boring as shit.

oh, and one time gas up played in iowa with a guy that'd play guitar and tell jokes but never both at the same time. that was a weird tour.

we played with cowboys became folk heroes in a skate park to about 6 people. skate parks are not built for shows re: sound, so everyone sounded like shit. plus, CBFH forgot how to play "papaya" mid-song which was funny but also mega disappointing. we all got drunk that night though so no one cared later.

off the top of my head (i'm sure there's more):

bands that were just too sassy and sounded like shit:
an albatross
usurp synapse
the bronx
blood brothers

bands that were just plain bad in a live setting:
hassan i sabbah
ted leo

bands i couldn't wait to see, then saw them and thought they were totally underwhelming:
mineral
threadbare
