i read that on their tumblr, patrick hates people singing a long because he finds his lyrics to be too personal and weirds him out.

until he writes a song about the awkward point in his early teens about the time he got a boner over a cartoon character, he can suck it up and be a goddamn man and appreciate the fact that people took the time out to appreciate his band enough to learn the words to the songs and relate to what he's feeling.

I totally agree with you Jake. That's one of the dumbest things I ever heard. If your lyrics are "too personal" then why even use them in your songs at all.
