I can see how you would put my list as elementary, I didn't put my favorite top 10, but more a top 10 list for most influential to the genre. A good majority of the bands you put on your list I despise and I think are complete shit for screamo bands and music in general. I don't give a shit who you have or haven't seen live, I'm not trying to get in a dick measuring contest with you. My comment was in jest anyway, you don't get it.

my top 10 "screamo" bands would go something like this (in no particular order):

shotmaker
twelve hour turn
angel hair
usurp synapse
love lost but not forgotten (if they ever heard me say that they'd kill me)
jeromes dream
off minor
life at these speeds (demo mainly)
moonraker
native nod

now this is just my list you're allowed to have opinions

Shotmaker and Native Nod are more emo, imo. And if Angel Hair counts as screamo then Honeywell is definitely the 1st screamo band ever.

i know brian is legit but i just don't agree on that list at all....you're list is def legit but angel hair, shotmaker , and native nod are definitely more 90s emo. My list is for the definitive screamo sound and there are many different subgenres of screamo/emo.

they are definitively very influential bands for sure....but usurp is 100% legit. The emo-violence sound is IMO at the core of what true screamo is....a long with epic emo melodic parts(clean guitar, great bass lines etc)
