JD has some of the best. i guess it really depends on if you like "screamo" which is just literal screaming or shrieking or "emo" which is just yelling and usually more gruff.



but i do agree with carlisle vocals. absolute worst but thats why its so good.

i believe they had two singers one sounded like a crazed auctioneer the other sounded like he got kicked in the balls and recorded his vocals 20 yards away from the vocal booth . either way JD as a whole > any screamo band imo

JD did not use mics for whatever reason... it was fine on recording but was terrible for live since they were usually hard to hear. then they used the terrible vocal modification for the last of their music. those vocals actually are bad.

they used floor mics during the recording sessions, I think. the reason they used that effect processor was that the vocalist fainted during recording and decided he couldn't take it any more. personally, I much prefer the first style.

jeff smiths voice defines pain... jeromes dream are the greatest BAND not just in screamo. fuck the haters.

the processed mega phone vocals on presents are sweet as well.

band is flawless.

Disgusting. Anyone that seriously likes JD vocals has no musical ear at all, they are terrible. And who ever made the distinction between emo and screamo based on gruufness and screechyness in vocals is just wrong.
