well when me and my previous girlfriend agreed to break up, we also decided to go back to the friends with benefits status, and it worked out fine, but it gives a serious setback when either one gets feelings elsewhere trust me, I have been in that carousel for three months now, we have now agreed to be best friends without the sex and it is going okay so far, but jealousy can really fuck things up sometimes

I think friends would work out if both people just laid low for a while. That's what I am trying to do right now.

good luck. i did that with my previous ex. didn't talk for like a year. now we're cool and totally friends if we talk occasionally. not really any bad feelings left. probably helped i fell in love with someone else in the meanwhile.

We were "friends" about two months after the break up, and things were going alright, I felt, until I found out that she found someone else six months later. It pretty much ripped into me for a long time afterwards.

i think ultimately being friends is kind of like a cop out way of not truly ending things, because staying close in some way is really just hanging on to your emotions and so shit like that will make you emotionally hurt.
