you are all about to get taken to school on a big yellow plagueship:

first of all nietzsche WAS in a screamo band: orchid. remember, he wrote that song about it? so were foucault and debord. although, debord is no will k, and he definitely would NOT have been in ampere. stephen would have followed him around begging him to be in it, but he would have made some snooty comment about how being a hipster in a screamo band is to be part of the bourgeois spectacle which reifies ideology and separates us from our own existence. and he would have been right.

edgar allen poe would have obviously done something gothic and ambient, although i guess i wouldn't rule out him being in a band like jerome's dream at his angstier moments. oscar wilde would have had some fagcore electro project like gravy train or possibly blood bros; his solo stuff would be more like magnetic fields. jesus would clearly be on some iron and wine, sufjan stevens, will oldham shit; isn't that genre sort of called "indie jesus" anyway? no?

word up to the pythagorean powerviolence; so down.

on to my picks, karl friedrich gauss would have been in the sickest mathcore band ever. it would have been like ampere + mars volta + converge + botch + big black. or something. i don't know. and in case you don't know who karl friedrich gauss is, he is the closest math nerds like me have to a rock god idol.

hp lovecraft would have had a sick goregrind/blackmetal crossover band (with burzum-esque, possibly racist tendencies), hemingway would have fronted a tough guy hardcore band, and james joyce would have been in some rites of spring/revolution summer band, marcel proust would have been in something like moss icon but even way spacier and more atmospheric, aslkfjlk i could go on all day.

emma goldman would have fronted some pc hardcore band like punch. joan of arc would have been in a band like alexisonfire.

WILL POST AGAIN WHEN I THINK UP MOAR JOKEZ.

heidegger = burzum. super delicious, just awkward when you find out about the nazi part. heidegger is also super duper skram.
i don't mean to be a dick (i mean, i'm not in ampere or anything...) but i'm pretty sure foucault is better known for popularizing his account of bentham's panopticon in "discipline and punish".

also heidegger i would have thought more like a crushing atmospheric sludge metal, possibly isis-esque? but i think i tend to confuse him with hegel...

No.
Yes.
It's good to know you enjoy digging holes deeper and put as little thought into your posts as possible.

Glad I'm not the only one who likes busting on Ampere. Seeing him as an audience member at shows I'd be at was always worth a laugh.

i guess busting on ampere is the only thing easier than jocking them? actually i thought everyone hated them because supposedly stephen ripped off a ton of people on record deals? i don't know if that's true and the hc "community" can be utterly vicious with baseless rumors so i don't want to promote that if it's not true. still, i have met him and he is extremely weird and kind of lame. i like ampere though. sick tunes, weird kids, mixed feelings. happens more than you'd think.

Sorry, I didn't know posting in a thread about 'historical figures in skramz bands', deserved a lot of thought. I mean, the subject is pretty laughable in itself. It's good to know you enjoy gay jokes. Is that your idea of an average amount of thought to put into a post?

Protip: if you're going to try and correct someone when trying to be a gadfly, it helps to be right. If we get rid of the first clause in my sentence, we're left with:

It's good to know you put as little thought into your posts as possible.

So It's good to know you putting as little thought into your posts as possible. is correct to you?

Secondly, it's not really about the topic, but rather how you're responding as if being coy to those who negatively perceive your incredibly juvenile posts that garners at least my disdain for the level of thought. Yes, it's the internet, it's not serious business nor does anyone give a shit. We're all making jokes and we are at least attempting to communicate though, so posting the equivalent of "slip it in" and "NO U" to negative responses to your failed joke do constitute at least some need to give a little more effort.

If you look at it closely, what I said was not a joke. If you're going to act coy, I should inform you that I am not interested.
