Not really. This myth that the Japanese were "about to surrender" is some straight up "guys on disability" bullshit off some History Channel conspiracy show. It stems from Hirohito's expression of desire to surrender, but he was merely a figurehead at this point, and the military leadership and the military itself said very plainly they would have fought to the last man, and even began fortifying the main islands of Japan against invasion.

Might want to read up on things like the aftermath of the Battle of Okinawa, Operation Ketsugo, the Kyujo Incident, and Japanese forces in Singapore. The goal of Japan's political and military leadership to draw the Allies into a prolonged war of attrition, forcing an armistice and negotiating from there. Just because the emperor said he'd accept surrender didn't mean it was going to happen.

Did you seriously just quote a video game?

-People are panic buying. We were trying to be calm but if we don't get our stuff now there's a huge possibility that we will run out of supply.
-Gasoline stations closed up, stock fuel were sold out
-If you'd manage to find one, the line is almost two blocks long, and you're only limited to fill your tank up to 10 liters
-Sold out gas for our heaters
-Rotational black outs
-Trains suspended their operations because of the black outs
-I wasn't able to go to work because I only commute via train, it's staring to affect our jobs

+We managed to buy necessities that could last for two weeks
+Really trying to act logically and staying calm despite all the crazy stuff that's happening
+Good to know I have friends checking up on me
+Listening to hardcore/punk is a sanity-saver

those silly Mericans with absolutely no idea about history
Yeah, it's really not helping. But I'd like to think they're just a minority in terms of demographic distribution in the US...or are they?
It's kinda upsetting though.

first when i was in there, there were three guys dressed like they were in a black metal band (face paint and all) look at the arts and crafts section of the store i think they were looking at stickers

on the way out i glanced at two old men, one of them was wearing short shorts and as i was looking away he said to me "what you've never seen a couple of faggots before?"

on the way home there was some really excited looking black guy doing really fast wheelies down the street on a bike screaming at the top of his lungs

what the hell man
Wow, this made me laugh. I needed that.

No one can complain about their days anymore after the Sendai earthquake/tsunami in Japan.

Your life is great. Go listen to The Smiths.

No no. Thankfully I'm not. And residents within 10 km radius have already been evacuated.
Actually it's not even close. Meltdown isn't the same term that it was back in Chernobyl. If there was a meltdown it would be confined to the facility. The Japanese government is more concerned about the power distribution than the radiation leaks, really. That's why we're having rotational black outs so we won't have random black outs. Shutting down a prefecture for 3 hours to distribute power to another.
They already got one of the nuclear power plants stabilized though. The other one they're still trying to contain.
The news are exaggerating/sensationalizing things, it's really not helping at all. I'm trying to tell people it's really not that serious and I don't think the Japanese government is stupid enough to risk their people's health.
