FINALLY finished texhnolyze today and it was pretty fucking emo-violence. i liked it despite the fact that it took about 10-12 episodes to get going, and they killed off one of my favorite characters within that time, but it wasn't as feeltastic as it could have been. probably because it went in EVERY direction i didn't want it to go in and that ending.... tsk tsk

Bumping because i Just wanna say how much i LOVE serial experiments lain. I'd also like to recant my previous statement about Texhnolyze. It seems i cannot make accurate judgements about anything without at least 3 days to reflect on it... Texhnolyze has probably the most haunting ending ever, which really makes up for anything i didn't like throughout the whole series.
I really enjoyed Mnemosyne too.

I agree, it makes me want to try ghost in the shell again, i was never able to get into it in years past. Psycho-Pass looks pretty neat, gotta add it to my list

Most times when I see the covers of the movie / series, I can't stop thinking about some random bullshity japanese porn where animated innocent schoolgirls get raped and brutally fucked by some weirdo monster. maybe I should see a doctor.

got up to episode 8 of texhnolyze about a month ago and finally getting back into it
also planning on starting boogiepop phantom if anyone's familiar, same people who did serial experiments lain so I have high hopes

boogiepop is pretty decent. idk if you like non-mecha mecha anime, but check out RahXephon, chiaki konaka wrote several of the episodes. it's very NGE, though i personally like it better.
