having seen usurp when they were a band, i was pretty unimpressed.

i'm not sure what the definition of emo-violence would be exactly, but as stated previously, orchid, ampere, portraits of past, ..even jerome's dream, i believe have better writing.

usurp is great, i'm not sure if they are the best, but they are up there. i don't really think i have a favorite out of emo-violence.

can we talk about how good their drummer is

Usurp Synapse's guitarwork was amazing. Lyrics, rawness, ... they had it all. Neil Perry comes closer.

Usurp is definitely more of an acquired taste than JD, Tristan, etc. I had to push my way through Dis Fix a few times before I warmed up to it.
