Also, I just want to say... the aesthetic of black metal: fucking retarded. I'm not sure if I said this already, but dressing up in corpse paint and fucking spikes and such... they're basically just metal's scene kids.

Without (hopefully) embarrassing anyone on this board, I think you could look at the picture thread and see who eats up most of the black metal put out these days. No one in that thread is wearing any corpse paint. When acknowledging how the band members of black metal bands look then I can only tell you that this is your fault. Same argument as people not getting into screamo because of the whiny lyrics, it's just the way it is dude.

I agree with you though on the topic of the lyrics, the message isn't so much important to me, but I cannot boogie to any nationalism or homophobia of any kind.

Also, Bone Awl is pretty awesome, but it's probably not what you're looking for and is super lo fi.
