because they weren't. end of a year was one of the first (maybe THE first, i'm not sure) band that deathwish signed that wasn't your typical hardcore band, which like he said in the interview, opened doors for different kinds of hardcore bands to get signed. touche amore had nothing to do with it. if anything i thought he was going to say punch helped them get on it

Not to mention that Jake who plays in Loma Prieta used to play in Lewd Acts who were on Deathwish. I think Converge at times in the past has been an atypical hardcore band at times, but I get that when Converge was more closely related to screamo/emo bands was in the 90s and End Of a Year is a band that is tied into screamo/emo currently.

I thought it was really weird when it was first announced (not in a bad way) but then I remembered that DW just put out 7"s for Punch and Living Eyes. Deathwish has always put out pretty unique bands even within the realm of typical hardcore (Blacklisted, Cursed, Cold World, etc.) but still all of those bands are loved by hardcore kids where as End Of A Year and Loma aren't.

definitely agree with this. it's kinda cool that the title is open to interpretation, but that just seems a more suitable title to me.
