Anyone have any thoughts on the best albums of 2011? Best screamo of 2011?
Joyce Manor's S/T was probably my favorite overall. I would have to give Ampere's "Like Shadows" best screamo of 2011 (or Daniel Striped Tiger's No Difference, but I guess that could be argued NOT SCREAMO).

beau navire's "hours" by far.
my favorite hardcore record of this year though is recognize's "revenge" because apparently i am making the full transition into dudebro.

I really like Raein's "Sulla Linea D'Orizzonte Tra Questa Mia Vita E Quella Di Tutti". Don't really know how to pronounce it but I still like it a lot.

Ten Thousand Leauges/John Cota split
Pygmy Lush - "Old Friends" (also wins worst album art of 2011)
Brown Sugar - "...Sings of Birds and Racism"
Woods - "Sun & Shade"
Lord Snow's demo/EP
Meek is Murder - "Algorithms"
Ampere - "Like Shadows"
Grouper - "A | A"
Harm's Way - "Isolate"
There's a few more that don't come to mind right now, so I'll leave it a that.

"Hours" is officially my new favorite album.
A lot of other good stuff on here too.

Ampere - "Like Shadows" is the best LP of the year.
Best live screamo bands I saw this year go in this order:
1. Loma Prieta (Val is insanely good, and gets better every time I see him, their live performance was so intense)
2. Ten Thousand Leagues (Ramy Kills on the drums, he's one of the best drummers in hardcore right now)
3. Adobe Homes ( AJ is an animal)
