I guess to be more specific it was something like this:

Linkin Park
Slayer/Iron Maiden
Wierd phase of that Glam-Hardcore stuff
Hopesfall/HORSE the band (I know..)

Saetia

All of this happened somewhere between the 4th grade and now.

Radiohead opened my eyes to everything that wasn't in the VH1 top 20 countdown, so I guess I could call them my gateway band. But as far as skramz goes, my friend gave me a flash drive with The Spirit Of Versailles and Saetia on it a long time ago. I guess that really started it for me.

bad brains - i was in junior high and i already like janes addiction and the cure and shit, and also listened to tons of metal, but i heard bad brains on princeton's radio station and i had to find out about them. this was pre internet. bad brains led to everything

fourth grade: disturbed
fifth grade: blink 182
sixth grade: yeah yeah yeahs, strokes, von bondies
seventh grade: slipknot, chiodos, jack johnson
eight grade: cannibal corpse, cephalic carnage
freshman year: phish, dmb, ben harper, g love
sophomore year: dandy warhols, brian jonestown massacre, indie trash
end of sophomore year: indian summer, cap'n jazz

then it all happened.

Beach Boys as a youngster

Black Sabbath got me into music in middle school

Opeth really got me into music with "extreme vocals", before that I thought growling and screaming was stupid.

Pig Destroyer really got me into grind,punk, and hardcore.
