I always thought For My Parents was a masterpiece too. a lot of people complained about it being "boring", but, to me, it was the perfect continuation of their sound. it was pretty much the logical *conclusion* of their sound. and then Last Dawn/Rays of Darkness 2xLP was a very refreshing way of kind of going back to the beginning, but doing something very different.

For My Parents is definitely their most classically inclined album, with lots of nuance and emotion poured into every breath of it. this is perhaps at the expense of a certain sense of explosiveness and catharsis, so it's a different vibe, no doubt. but to me, calling For My Parents boring, is like calling Beethoven boring; which, to be fair, lots of people do.

seeing the full version of requiem for hell live blew me away...my jaw dropped at the ending
