What are your guy's thoughts are the new term "drone screamo?" It's essentially lofi screamo with like noisecore and shoegaze. I heard it on emo Instagram and subreddits every now and then referring to bands like Meth. I've found rym lists and playlists on youtube. When I first heard about it, I just thought it was gonna be like SunnO)) with Skramz vocals but then I've heard it referred to normal emoviolence sounding bands or weird experimental shit, lots of black gaze too. It honestly just makes me think of the whole 5th wave emo twitter drama on how its a meaningless label that doesn't sound different. What are your takes on this? Is this the first time you heard of this supposed "mircogenre" at all? Should I even care? I've just never talked to anyone about this and it all seems very confusing

i've only seen like one person actually using that term. I don't think the term is ever going to catch on. there doesn't seem to be any clear answer what "drone screamo" is. I've seen it used to describe noisecore bands, blackgaze and just plain lofi emo.
