i haven't listened to much bofn outside of this split, but this JD songs are so intense. could possibly be my fave record in my collection.

kodan armada / montcalm was cool - nae listening in years though. I remember really liking the Olive Tree side of their split with Toru Okada (fuck toru okada though). Republic of Freedom Fighters have some cool splits with 27 hours and Render Useless.

the two bands really don't sound that different for you to dig the one and hate the other. i agree that the olive tree side rocks though. my copy is mislabeled, so i thought the olive tree side was toru okada first listen through.

I always thought that Olive Tree was the same sort of thing done better on that split. Toru Okada sounded a bit cluttered. I definitely liked them at the time though. A lot of posthumous disdain for Rusty, obviously. I've always preferred Khayembii Communique, Kodan Armada & Olive Tree to Toru Okada though. Easily! And I've always associated those bands with one another.

Dude the Toru Okada side is so good. Two of their best songs!

I have that split and I think it's pretty weak. My buddy Sam played in that band and I still am not that into that split. But I'll still give big ups just cause it's Austin skramz.

I like the kyambii comunique side of their split with Vida blue.

fire team Charlie / Damezumari split is great more big ups for FTC being Texas skramz.
Angel hair/ fistacuffs bluff split ( I like the angel hair side better)

Both of those Splits are amazing. I also really love the Ampere Daitro Split.
