East Coast vs. West Coast

Post by TehBurgerKing »

Which do you think has the better bands/scene/whatever? For the west you've got bands like Seeing Means More, Fight Fair, Portraits of Past, Funeral Diner, and all the bands in the San Diego early-mid 90s scene, and then for the east coast you have bands like Saetia, Orchid, Pg.99, Moss Icon, Rites of Spring, I Hate Myself, etc. Let the debating begin, if that's cool and all.

Let me rephrase this. They both are equally awesome.

I didn't say it mattered, I was just wondering what your opinions were on it.

I've lived on both coasts, and California wins. No contest. In addition to what you listed:
Comadre, Loma Prieta (Sailboats, too), ColorChromatic, Beau Navire, Drowning With Our Anchors, iwrotehaikusaboutcannabalisminyouryearbook, Calculator, Di Bravura, ...Who Calls So Loud, John Cota, Ten Thousand Leagues, and I could go on. More great bands just keep popping up.

The east coast has had greats, but the current scene is a few good bands that hardly ever play shows. (L'Antietam, Ampere, etc)

edit: Plus the shows here totally destroy anything over there
