BLACK EVEREST – demo 7” (sh35.5) 3euro
(Somewhere between Hardcore, Screamo but also Post-rock and Crust this demo 7" is to class in. Extremely powerful, yet playful and not too fiddly. In between a synthesizer provides a kind of epic atmosphere. (Almost feels like a surrounding spaceship). The four guys from Berlin, Hamburg and Oldenburg manage the balancing act between hard and fast parts and moodful melodies. to find a specific classification is difficult - a too wide-ranging musical spectrum had obviously influence on the five songs. If you cant imagine this, you should get this record and make your own impression)

(DOWNFALL OF GAIA from germany and IN THE HEARTS OF EMPERORS from sweden share this split together and i think there wouldn?t be a better fitting combination to do this. Both band play this dark crust,doom,punk style. DOWNFALL OF GAIA contribute two (more one long) song to this split. It starts very slow like you already heared it on some of their last songs on ?epos?. It grows and grows over a few minutes until it breaks out. Epic, athosmpheric parts meet blast. To compare it to other bands you can say ALPINIST meets FALL OF EFRAFA here. IN THE HEARTS OF EMPERORS are the counterpart to DOG. I really could copy and paste what I wrote before. Three dark, detuned songs array to one long song here. Dark and angry vocals meet hard guitar lines. Reminds me very much to Amen Ra. The LP comes in a heavy gatefoldcover with a printed inside. The vinyl itself will be pressed on heavy (180gr) redwax. There will also be a poster included)

One of the most well known of Portland's fertile post punk influenced scene, Arctic Flowers follows up their well received debut EP and split with Spectres. Their sound builds on the foundation of UK anarchopunk meeting their previous work with such bands as Signal Lost and The Observers. This 12" has 8 songs leaning more towards the hardcore end of the spectrum while throwing in the occasional Mob influenced bit of melodic punk. Second press: 300 on green vinyl.

Book of Black Earth returns with their third full length album, the Cold Testament, 8 songs confidently moving between influences ranging from Swedish death metal to nwobhm to Brazilian thrash to dbeat crust.
