IFB Records - DISTRO UPDATE - Hexis 7"

Post by ifbrecords »

Hi, this is Nevin at IFB - this is the first time I've posted here - I don't really do message boards, but I thought folks here would like the stuff I've got in the distro (full list at www.ifbrecords.com), and might be interested in helping book Republic of Dreams - I'll be booking their US tour. If you want to help ROD, or make an order, please email me rather than posting here - I won't be checking it.

ifbrecords@gmail.com

Hello all - a blow out update here. There's gems in this list - I need to raise money pretty bad - hopefully you find one you dig. I'd like to thank everyone for all the support lately - it's been just a great response to the new releases and thanks for hitting that sale list hard - I needed the space bad.

Remember to check www.ifbrecords.com for the full distro list - below is only the new stuff.

First, though I'm happy to finally announce the release of the Hexis 7". Check out www.ifbrecords.blogspot.com for the image and download.

Hexis - X 7" - $5
Hexis is from Denmark and plays some seriously heavy and oppressive hardcore/black metal hybrid. It's just an absolute wall of crushing guitar with almost constant double bass. It's not at a super fast pace though, so the double bass has this overpowering sense to it rather than just being a blur. The drummer also plays the floor tom as a snare most of the time, so the blasting feels even more low-end. The vocals are ugly throaty filth that bring to mind the UK's Vuur. This doesn't sound quite like anything else, but if you like the Bremen-sound German HC bands, or stuff like Acrid, this should be right up your alley. As heavy and ugly as they come. This is a split release with IFB Records, Panda Banda, Orchid Scent, Parade of Spectres, and Maximum Douglas.

Here are the zines I have in stock - I carry MRR now, so if you like it order it - support print zines or they're gone. And Seven Inches to Freedom rules if you don't already know.

Don't Be Swindle - #1 - Grind/Fastcore zine w/ Looking for an Answer, ACXDC, Hummingbird of Death, Bastard Noise, reviews, columns etc. $2
Maximum Rock n' Roll #343/Dec. 2011 - interviews w/ Porkeria, Poly styrene, Katorga Works, Descarados, Eater etc. $4
Maximum Rock n' Roll #344/Jan. 2012 - interviews with OBNIII's, Bloodkrow Butcher, Wartorn, Wretched, Shitty Limits last show and tons more. $4
Maximum Rock n' Roll #345/Feb. 2012 - int. w/ Big Eyes, Zero Progress, Terrible Feelings. Has the year end top 10 lists and all the reviews in the world. $4
Seven Inches to Freedom #8 and #9 - The best punk/HC music zine going - interesting, amped up, and refreshing. $1

The first press of Cloud Rat's s/t LP is almost gone - only 1 copy left if you want the first press. We'll be repressing it real soon. Also only 3 copies of the Resurrectionists s/t LP and like 5 of the 4 way split LP with Dolcim/LPOJSM/Men as Trees/Dying in Motion.

In other news, I'll be booking a tour for Republic of Dreams from Germany (I'll have their split 7" w/ Beau Navire soon on IFB). European emo-violence just how you like it. They'll be in the states from July 9-26. We'll be starting in FL, then moving up through the mid-west then down the east coast. If you're in that area and can help with a show, please get in touch. I don't know the exact route yet, but want to reach out to see who is interested in helping then go from there.

My band Autarkeia and Panzram just bought our plane tickets to Germany for a summer tour from June 18-July 2nd to play the Cry Me a River fest and see some of the best people in the world again. If you can help book a show in or near Germany, get in touch with Lars at React With Protest Records - dancetodeath@yahoo.com. We'd appreciate any support, and would love to meet our Euro pals face to face.

Lastly, I should have the Shoppers/Panzram 7" in the next week or two. We're screenprinting the covers this weekend. Also the Vespera - demo Cassette has been at the plant forever, and I don't know how long they're going to take, but I heard they're crazy backed up after Wall Street Journal did an article on them (National Audio Company). Good for them, but bad for us that want melodic Japanese raw-punk soon.

Now for new distro records - check www.ifbrecords.com for the full list - always updated! I have everything on there unless someone ordered it before you and just hasn't paid yet. I delete paid for records immediately.

I bought a load of records from Inimical - I've loved lots of their releases and wanted to carry them and support the label. Don't miss Preying Hands or Ballast or Arctic Flowers - too good.

I did a trade with Choking Hazard Records from Canada - if you like hideous sludge/powerviolence, scary music, or like drugs that no one else has heard of, this shit is for you - dark shit with killer packaging all around. Cool label for sure.

v/a - The Stranglers 2xCD - sludge comp. w/ multiple tracks of Atavist, Moloch, Austrasian Goat, Stasis, Ghost empire, more. $6
Fistula - We, The Beast CD - Negative drugged up blown out filth - killer art again - totally matches the sound - oppressive and horrible. $5

Also I bought some Worlds tapes from Dan that does Financial Ruin Records

Worlds - Unforeseen Paths CASSETTE - Gainesville grind mania - comes w/ patch, sticker, screenprinted box. $5

And lastly, I did a trade for 4 Cassettes from Ranch Records - really good stuff all of them.
