IFB Rec. - Curmudgeon 12", Panzram tour/tape, Drugged Con.

Post by ifbrecords »

As always, if you read this on a message board, please reply to ifbrecords@gmail.com - I am never on message boards and won't see a reply there.

OK, lots of stuff this time - gonna make it all organized and stuff.

1. Curmudgeon 12" out NOW
2. Panzram tour and new tape
3. New issue of Seven Inches to Freedom, new MRR's, and other zines in stock
4. Stunted Child DVD release (a film/music by Joe of Seven Inches to Freedom/Panzram)
5. IFB is now doing all the distribution for Drugged Conscience Records - 4 new tapes out and last of the Merchandise and Shoppers LP's
6. A list of random 7"s that are new to the distro list
7. Current list of available IFB releases (Lentic Waters and Beau Navire/Republic of Dreams are just about sold out - get 'em now if you want 'em)

Next update will have some new release trades that I got in and the Old Soul - Tidal Lock LP which should be done any week now.

1.

The Curmudgeon - Amygdala 12" is out - This is a one sided LP from Boston's finest powerviolent hardcore outfit. This one just hits you in all the right places, dropping ripping HC riffs in between crushing plods, only to then whip you into shape with what my pal John Fahy might call an "ignorant riff" - a riff perfect in its ability to bring you back to your Neanderthal genetic past and just wreck things in a furious frenzy. All this mess is fronted with Krystina's venomous vocals which are scathing critiques all backed up with nice explanations on the insert. Just like it should be. The packaging features great artwork from Ryan and extensive screenprinting and stamping work - this is one of the best looking releases I've done - thanks to Joe from Seven Inches to Freedom/Panzram for expert screen preparation (he can be contacted for screenprint work - just get in touch). This is a split release with Not Normal (Chicago) and Parade of Spectres (UK).

These are $9 in an order or $12ppd alone.

2. PANZRAM TOUR / NEW TAPE

Panzram is on tour right now on the East/Midwest. I'm a little late getting this update out (big surprise), so a few of the dates have already happened, but salvage what you can from this wreckage. For this tour they recorded a five song tape titled "Judgement Night Soundtrack". A few of us old punks might be surprised to learn that there is no rap/rock combos on here, but rather more of the vicious post punk inspired filth that Panzram has mastered over the last few years. These five songs are great, with much more post punk leanings though not abandoning blasts. All I have to say is the song "Petty Motives" on here is their masterpiece - hands down - fucking masterpiece. I got to see it every night when Autarkeia toured with Panzram in Europe and was blown away every time. Just you wait for that bass break and get ready to die.

These bad boys are $4

Here are the tour dates - please buy the tape from them on the road if they're in your town - they'll also have their 10", 7", and split 7" w/ Shoppers as well as killer T-shirts (see below)
I may have some shirts for sale if there are leftovers after the tour - email me if you want one and I'll let you know when they get back.

4. STUNTED CHILD DVD release -

In between doing Panzram and Seven Inches to Freedom and growing old, Joe found time to create a 20 minute short film with original music that he recorded himself. The bees may be dying, but they're busier than ever. It's a dark and haunting experience - here's what Joe wrote up to describe it - "Humanoid delusions, post-childhood nightmares, isolation with one's thoughts and insecurities for too long, resulting in an ugly transformation, confined to storage, somewhere between a womb and a cold, concrete-floored warehouse - away from what frightens and what could threaten, all told through audio and visual distortion of truth."
The DVD case is handmade with extensive screenprinting work and an insert - GET THIS

These are $10
