As part of the 2023 collection, Audemars Piguet presents the mesmerizing version of the Code 11.59 flying tourbillon with a smoked green enamel aventurine dial. Also known as a fumé or gradient dial, this effect produces a lighter tone in the center of the dial and intensifies as it reaches the periphery. The watch comes in a two-tone 41mm rose gold and black ceramic case and will be available exclusively in Southeast Asia in June 2023, followed by other countries in August.
The Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon is one of the first models in the Code 11.59 collection launched in 2019 and is equipped with a new movement with a flying tourbillon - Caliber 2950. Dual sound box
The gleaming green aventurine dial incorporates a gradient effect, and the 41mm case is two-tone in rose gold with a black ceramic center. Like other members of the Code 11.59 collection, the faceted case construction features highly stylized lugs, a slim bezel and an octagonal case middle, highlighted by satin-brushed and polished surfaces. The combination of sleek black ceramic adds a modern touch to the watch. A black textured rubber strap with calfskin lining and a rose gold AP deployant clasp adds a modern touch to this model.
Gradient Green Aventurine
The smoked green enamel aventurine dial is originally a blank gold surface treated with a mixture of crushed green aventurine glass and enamel. A thin layer of glass sand is mixed with water and applied by hand to crushed aventurine glass, which is then heated to over 800ºC in special kilns. This process is repeated over and over at different temperatures and times, resulting in the extraordinary transparency, depth and light that you can admire on the dial. The shiny green dial with a gradient or smoky effect turns almost black when it reaches the outer circular raised black lacquered inner ring.
