Here's a laugh for you:

so my band has a new album coming up, and we want a label/some labels to release it.

our ideal deal is:

a) we make the album (that part is nearly done), we design the cover
b) label press covers and some sort of optical format (not looking for analogue formats, due to the album being 100% digitally recorded)
c) label carries and sells it

the terms would be:
a) label handles every expense/most expenses
b) label has no rights
c) label sells the CD/whatever as cheap as possible
d) label gets all the profit



do you guys know anyone who would be stupid enough to go along with this? I can send two demo tracks to their/your e-mail if they/you want to hear this stuff. I'm assuming no one will do shit without hearing it first, but I don't want to circulate this on the net until it's done, so it's not uploaded anywhere. but if you actually run a label, and are looking for something cool to release, just pop me a pm, or post your e-mail in here. if you need any encouragement... well... I can vouch for it being fucking awesome.

if you just know of some labels that release noisy/droney/whatever stuff, post a link, so I can hit them up!

for reference, we used to sound like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_GuCkVXTR4 (from our slightly embarrassing/outdated first album). if you really hate that, chances are you might hate what we are doing now as well. we are a noisy band. not as noisy as we were back then, but noisy. this time around we're not all ugly filthy bloody fucking mess though. we have some melody tucked in underneath, believe it or not. we are like totally emogaze or post-rock or something!

release our album please. if not... I'll probably take it as a sign that no one actually listens to this kind of music, and then just delete it when it's done, lol. or maybe do everything ourselves. but I don't really have the time, so it's more likely to end up being put on my blog and nothing more. or - if I have the time and money - make the CDs/whatever, and have distros sell it for us.

over and over he proves that he's a namedropping poser with only the most superficial understanding of and affiliation to diy/punk. He's certainly nothing to do with the scene I've been involved. It rules that he fucked up putting out a cdr like a total green.
