Thrash Zone is such a fun album, Dirty Rotten EP is some of D.R.I.'s best music though.I've yet to see D.R.I. live but their drummer lives in my city and plays in a crappy band I've seen, that has to count for something.

MDC much like DRI moved from TX to San Francisco in the early 80s. MDC is from Austin, DRI is from Houston. Big Boys are from Austin also. Texas musicians kinda had a heavy hand in the whole hardcore movement of the early 80s

Re: NATIVE (indiana)
just trolling dawg. I seriously don't like Native though, and I seriously do like DRI. I obviously don't don't base my life around a band that has lyrics like "Like a wild Indian from outerspace drunk and high on weed". I have met dudes that could probably say they base their lives on DRI. I guess my whole point I was making was that DRI is a super goofy band but still mean far more to many people than Native ever will. But no I'm not making fun of you.AlecEberhardt wrote:Brian, you making fun of me?brianutatx wrote: ethically, musically, financially, politically, basically the way I define who I am as a person comes from D.R.I.

My accountant advises me against it, but I spend most of my money on beer, pizza and weed. Thanks for guiding me D.R.I.BROOTALPOODLE wrote:HAH financiallybrianutatx wrote: ethically, musically, financially, politically, basically the way I define who I am as a person comes from D.R.I.

Re: NATIVE (indiana)
Ha fair enough. The connection I have with Native is that they were the first DIY band I ever saw, and they were also the first band I was ever able to just walk over to and talk to, which really broke down the rockstar complex I imagined with musicians when I was 16. Even if they aren't that good in some people's opinion, I still love them for what they're worth to me.brianutatx wrote: just trolling dawg. But, my buddy Joe from Iowa showed me DRI when we crashed there on tour and I've downloaded a shit ton of their stuff since. I'd heard the Ampere cover, but the original stuff kills.
Blah blah blah fuck my emotional bullshit blah blah.
