Only For The Sake Of Aching's demo, and Angel Hair's LP are pretty much the ultimate dance-skram releases, which makes them perfect for summer IMO.

Hoop dreams - demo tape
Dark forces - surrounded and out numbered
I have dreams- demo
Deers!- twothousandeight
A petal fallen- anything

A few summers ago I went camping with a bunch of friends and one of those friends was Sam, one of the guitarist from Toru Okada. After playing all the songs we knew around the camp fire, Sam bust out with some die emperor die and TO songs and we have the most amazing skramz singalong. Super bromance moment but it was great, we need to go camping again.

the screaming part at the end of this song is fucking rad.

I just got introduced to Godstar & Downy Mildew so this summer is probably going to be all about those bands... maybe even The Connells (can't help it) and Let's Active. Then the usual will apply: Game Theory (always), The Kossabone Red, Velocity Girl, Tsunami, Unrest, and then some Soul Whirling Somewhere when I get depressed/fan is making me cold inside. There's also a new No Paws album coming out, and a Nicole Kidman+Kevvy Greenspooon 7" that I can't wait to get my hands on.

Honestly I hate the Summer for some reason (probably because where I live it's usually pretty warm all the time, and very dusty/dirty/ugly so the heat just makes it feel worst) and will always probably hate it, so I think most of the time I end up listening to stuff which reminds me of cooler temperatures.

Also, probably these too:
Soul For Real - Every Little Thing I Do
Bernard Wright - Who Do You Love?
Ghost Town DJ's - My Boo
DeBarge - Rhythm of the Night

Duster - Stratosphere, a 1998 fuzzy slowcore/shoegaze/space rock type thing and the best record I've heard in years. This is compulsory listening year-round as well but it totally works for walking round beaches late at night being stoked and/or miserable about life.

Peter & Craig - Summer, i.e. Pete from Algernon and that dude from Towers shouting loveable summer-themed punk jams that'll make you puke in appreciation and give copious thumbs-up. "YOU GOTTA WEAR SUNBLOCK UNLESS YOU WANNA GET CANCER!"
Make Wave - totally fucking awesome surf pop.
Chalk Talk - totally fucking awesome surf punk.

Also Summer Vacation is kind of a no-brainer.

Also also early Tera Melos and Hella works pretty well in decent weather.

Also also also that one Hard Girls song.

Also also also also Pet Sounds.

Also also also also also the first three Modest Mouse records. (Long Drive/Lonesome Crowded West/Moon & Antarctica)

And usually the Cap'n Jazz binge kicks in around June.

one of my really good friends Tom just got his electronic project featured on Pitchfork, which is pretty cool.

The only ties this guy has to anything remotely skramz is he did vox in a short-lived Locust-esque band called 'The Cure For Cancer Has Been Found'

Anyways, this song is REALLLLLY summery. you can check it here: http://pitchfork.com/reviews/tracks/136 ... the-ocean/

(also, check out that hilarious artwork)

Algernon Cadwallader definitely has good summer jams.
Bands like Lawrence Arms, Hot Water Music, Dillinger Four, Latterman, etc are always good to include in your summer mixtape.
Of course really old corny music that is still fun to sing a long to such as Saves The Day, Taking Back Sunday, Dashboard Confessional.
For the really late nights it's good to include chill ass stuff like Carissa's Wierd, Low, Ida etc.
Maybe a few ignorant m0sh songs as well.
