Basically this. 70's tube amps that are loud clean and are used alot. Mainly since they don't sound too bad, and they used to be unanimously ignored by the majority of guitar weenies looking for teh tonz (which kept the prices down). However they have been going up in price as people dig their heads out of their asses... Silverface fender or 70's ampeg is seriously good amplification for much less than most good tube Amps cost. Then through an OCD on it and your good to go.lemyisgod wrote:In my opinion an amp makes the biggest difference. Instead of getting a new pedal I would invest that money in a better amp. You can make any guitar sound good with a good amp. Look for something in the Fender amps category to get Trei's sound something with Tubes not Solid State. Something like a Fender Pro Jr.
If you really wanna get nerdy down the line, upgrade your guitars pickups. The stock cp pickups aren't bad but there are much better to choose from out there. There are some good custom winders here. In the us and there are even some in the UK that o jazzmaster stuff... Not sure about the rest of the EU.
