At least in New York, the scene is dead. It's all Pop Punk/Pop sounding post Hardcore.

screamo is far from dead. I was having a discussion with my guitarist the other day, he thinks there are more people actively playing screamo than there are playing classical and jazz. I think he may be right.

screamo's gonna look dead if you only look here for news and whatnot, get involved in facebook groups like maybe the dope show, there's plenty of garbage but you'll find the people contributing to the scene today
