How do I scream properly?

This is usually the advice I give;

You know that feeling when your vocal chords shift into falsetto? Do that but right before actually hitting those high pitched notes, lock into that little pocket and push your voice hard. You should wind up with a very shrilly skram and after enough practice, you'll be able to change it around to the tone you want once comfortable

Yep. In addition, to find this "pocket", you'll feel it in the back of your throat kind of.

how do i not start coughing after screaming intensly? maybe it's because i smoke? i find if i hold a note until i run out of air i start coughing.

just yell at the top of your lungs. falsetto or not.

preferably falsetto. the higher vocals the better. etc
