not that a band using that rune should be instantaneously declared nazis as it has a history and meaning outside of its use by racist groups...

not unlike the swastika

they sample Nazi music, and sing about nationalist socialism... I assume they are nationalist socialist.

Every second black metal does both of these things. Runes for the sake of history (since every, yes, every black metal band comes from a forest or the occasional cave in Norway), and the latter for shock, the war-theme that pretty much every band uses or just generally taking a piss on something sensitive.
Also, I remember some band on woodstock playing a song with lyrics that pretty much promoted the war in vietnam, but it was plain sarcasm obviously. Using old nazi propaganda could just as well be used just to show/remind how horrifying the war and the nazi's were.

That being said, I'm pretty sure it's purely shock and provocation (?), as is every black metal band. Peste Noire have a sample of a crowd shouting "Sieg Heil" in a song of theirs, but they said in an interview they're not nazi's, but that they actually hate the nazi's because for invading France in the war, hah!

EDIT: Hell, even the singer of my favorite black metal band EVAR showed up with a swastika painted on his chest at a show in Germany. I thought it was fucking funny, and that it was quite hypocritical that for years no one gave a shit when every black metal band on the planet uses inverted crosses, but when 1 guy shows up with a swastika he gets banned from the country. It's got nothing to do with national socialism (for most of them at least), but only to remind people of the stupid shit they did

most black metal bands are about being as kvlt and shocking and whatever. but there are obviously black metal bands made up of actual racists or whatever. the most famous example probably being Burzum, who incidentally make no mention of politics in his music - which derives most of its themes from the Tolkien universe.

Ofcourse there's enough black metal bands that are racist, there's even a sub-genre of black metal dedicated to national socialism (NSBM). But that has nothing to do with runes or the commonly used war-theme

I'm just saying, just because they use runes that nazi's used or that they use samples from nazi's doesnt mean they ARE nazi's.

Honestly I never heard of the band and I didnt even watch the video.

This thread has become almost a parody thread of every single black metal thread on a non black metal forum.

Translation: "LOL! I like black metal because it's ironic/trendy. What's this? National Socialism!?! I disapprove."
