patronizing

and in my book it would be for 100x or 200x even. The only pressing plant that i know of that makes in quantities less than 300 is groovehouse, with their short-run duplication service, but thats super expensive.alexander wrote:obviously we are talking larger quantities, yes. for 50x, CD-Rs are probably cheaper.
i wonder how they think that complies with the European laws of free trade.alexander wrote:taxes and customs are not the same thing. Norwegian customs look through everything that isn't a non-suspicious gift, a book, or worth less than ~£18. thus I will have to add 25% plus a fee of ~£9 to each order.

Norway isn't a part of the European Union. they don't have to comply to EU laws... which sucks when it comes to shopping overseas.
Re: buy my label's first release! [The Pine]
I know. But Norway is part of the EEA, that was made to "allow Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway to participate in the EU's single market without a conventional EU membership. In exchange, they are obliged to adopt all EU legislation related to the single market. where do you buy CDs then? most of the time when I buy stuff from the US, they'll easily charge more than £4 for shipping alone (a lot of Americans I've gotten stuff from tend to over-do the packaging). please post links and contact information. I'd love to know how anyone can afford selling it for less than this. (unless they only sell it in person, of course. but then it's not comparable because I don't actually charge anything if people come pick it up in person.)mulder wrote:LOL YES DOING IT WRONGalexander wrote:also are you saying that £4 is expensive for a CD?

If i ever release a cdr again it would be with a lightscribe writer. that stuff looks great on cdrs and you can do at your home.

i released two cdrs, one i spraypainted.. the other one was a cdr with the vinylrecord look. i shoplifted most of the stuff minus the booklets so i sold them for 1 buck or gave them away.
It seems like many people here think releasing a cdr is just writing a cd which doesn't seem the case with Alexander his label.. Cdr releases are great when lots of work goes into the artwork.

i've been contemplating on doing a LS cd-r also. would be neat. can get them in all sorts of colors cheap. he. and yeah. i shoplifted the plastic covers for my first release also, printed the inlays in the library without paying, but bought cd's, and sold them for 1$ each also, haha. great way to do stuff.chewing tinfoil wrote:If i ever release a cdr again it would be with a lightscribe writer. that stuff looks great on cdrs and you can do at your home.
