Just curious but is the peace sign like a national symbol of Japan? I mean I've seen other people throw it up obviously but if there's a picture taken in Japan then I'd say there's a 50/50 shot that the peace sign will be in it. Is the entire country in a World Peace Yakuza and that's their sign?

Nothing against it btw, much better than suburban thugs throwing up "blood" signs, just found it funny.

Unless they're sociologists/anthropologists almost no Japanese know why they do the peace sign, it's like an automatic reflex. And well obviously the Japanese like cute stuff (read: kawaii culture) and doing the peace sign boosts cuteness if that even makes sense. On a deeper note I think it stemmed from post-WWII when the Japanese started embracing the American culture, 'cause we lost teh war bawww.
It's like a collective cultural response. But yeah 21st century Japan became fond of American pop culture. . . When you go to Japan look around the stores, you will see mangled Engrish everywhere, that's how we show we wuv teh white man's language.

I'm someone's godfather now. I am... THE GODFATHER. Well, an agnostic godfather. Dammit, why did that guy have to be the dad.

Wait til you become an uncle.

I became an AUNT at 14. . . I'm my own niece's godmother. Dual purpose.
I have to give her two gifts as an aunt and a godmother. But she's so adorable. How can I say no to this?!
