La Quiete
Daitro
Loma Prieta

Thanks. Im really into i guess what you could call the current wave bands like defeater, native, pianos become the teeth, la dispute and also melodic hardcore like give up the ghost, american nightmare, carry on stuff like that. also really like posthardcore giants like fugazi and drive like jehu. if this helps at all. what is the band after Matsuri? how would i go about finding their music?

If you like Pianos then Daitro and La Quiete should be really easy for you to get into.
If you like Fugazi and Drive Like Jehu check out Shotmaker and Twelve Hour Turn.

Came to post the compendium thread, it's what I initially used when I was lurking cmh2.0. Also, the screamoisdead folder. Also check out http://www.mediafire.com/emoisdead You'll find tons of great stuff.

Also, if you get the chance, check out some awesome Toronto acts:

Delo Truda
The Year It Broke (formerly Ramon Gris)
Marla Singer
Animal Faces
I Spoke (much older, pre-Titan)
Gnarlin Gnartree wrote:Will Killingsworth and Jayson Green traveled to France and brought Screamo back with them. It was being oppressed by the French government.

You might enjoy looking through a lot of the 90's emo bands to sort of see the basis for the screamo sound as it is. The people before me pretty much gave you enough screamo to keep you busy for weeks.

Heroin
Mohinder
Still Life
Policy of 3
MOSS ICON
Indian Summer
Shroomunion
Agna Moraine's Autobiography
Bubblejug
Angel Hair
Grey Before My Eyes

Some of those are the bigger names. Some of those are personal favorites. All of them are good.

Here's some bands no-one's mentioned that I think you should scope.

Hasan I Sabbah, Antioch Arrow, Jeromes Dream, Makara, Puritan, Battle Of Wolf 359, The Assistant, Welcome The Plague Year...

There's a lot of bands, don't feel like everything everyone's mentioned is essential, but I've noticed people tend to gravitate towards certain types of bands. There's twinkly stuff, heavy stuff, noisy stuff, metally stuff etc...

Often record labels are a good guide. If it's on Gravity, Witching Hour, Ebullition or Level Plane you should be onto a winner.
