Somehow, they remind me of The Assistant.

Re: jap screemo
So I checked out that band Seth.
They were pretty decent. All the instruments are played well. I would however have liked more screaming and less monologue, and I feel like they should stay away from any attempts at what I assume they think are "metal" vocals. Ill probably end up re visiting a few songs in the future.
レイシズム Is a good song, I have no clue what the title is but its good.
私欲の結末 was also very good.
They almost have like a mainstream J-Rock feel like AKFG mixed with American post-hardcore/screamo like Dance Gavin Dance but I can definitely still hear the 90s emo influence.

Endzwick! super awesome jap screamo, all twinkly and shit.
Re: jap screemo
Yes. I think I posted somewhere here (in the post local bands thread I think) as well that I liked their older stuff than their revised songs in their full-length. Kawa (the vox/bass) and Tsuyoshi (guitar) were always inclined to the likes of Envy and Shin (drums) is a big fan of French screamo especially Daitro. Actually, Kawa and Shin are also in a metal band together, Seth is just a side-band...So you can figure why.Cromlech wrote:So I checked out that band Seth.

私欲の結末 (The Final Conclusion of Self-Interest) was also very good.

They had vocal guests all over the place too... If you listen to 『軽視される命』(Underestimated Life) where they had this sorta "death metal" vocals at some point..That was a guy from some death metal band. And in 『切り開く闇を...』(Cut Through The Darkness), they had this guy from a noisecore band (a friend of mine as well, and whose vocals reminds me of Spirit Versailles btw) scream sometime around 5:10+ in the song.
Anyway my personal favorite would be both the old and revised versions of 『腐った街』(Rotten City) and レイシズム. I wouldn't call them emo per se, but you can still catch that 90's vibe. I still enjoyed listening to the entire album though.

Oh shit, speaking of metal, I'm gonna show some apreesh for Swarrrm (also Japanese). Now their recent stuff is undoubtedly some weird death metal hybrid, but back then in the early 2000s, their style was definitely a mix of grindcore and emo in "Against Again."
Re: jap screemo
Most of the bands I've heard so far in local shows here are hybrid in everything that I don't even know what to call them sometimes. But most of them can pull it off, so I guess it's a good thing.
And I dunno if you guys have heard of them yet but this screamo/jazz/whatever band called Tomato Steal had a split with Heaven in Her Arms.
