Looks it's okay, I get it. I was just calling you out (and similarly kind of calling out Alec for making this thread....) for being a dork lately. I have friends who operate labels out of their bedrooms and get orders from Paris, or from Eastern Europe. I even have a few friends and acquaintances having their releases being done in other parts of the world, because of the interest in their music. The internet lets transactions such as these become possible. I am not saying it's bad or you're a poser, but when you start saying this band is shitty or sucks really bad, you have to take into consideration that somehow, even through how shitty they are they have an audience that so far has been willing to shell out gas and drive a few hours to catch them at their nearest show, and not only buy their merch, but in person feel gratified that they got to meet this band. You're right though, I do not get where you're coming from. You have a perfectly reasonable right to express how shitty you think that band is, I hate them too! I don't like the twinkles as I've said before, I don't like a lot of pop punk, and I hate most of the "progressive(ly shitty)" hardcore (the wave, b9, tumblrxvx) that I know a ton of guys on here like, but I don't really feel the need to remind everyone about it in every thread.

I've been planning an assortment of lo-fi/indie/punk shows at my house, the first one was great, a lot of it was promoted through the internet, but even then I still printed out flyers and passed them around at other shows, schools, and on the bus. I use the internet too for music promotion, and similar things (like playing magic: the gathering online with matt|, the original creator of cmhwak, when we're both on at the same time). I'll use it right now! If you and either of your bands ever come to the west coast, you guys can play a show at my house, I'm extending the invitation to every band on the 'wak (as long as it's not out of the way for me, or anyone else I live with).

Also, the only reason I started out with the "internet" was because of this:

No shame in being Internet. I like you two, by the way.

I'm internet as fuck. Pretty much every punk/screamo/hardcore band I know I found out about on the internet, and I haven't even seen a single screamo act live. Thursday and Trash Talk are about as close as I've got.
But then again, I live in Hawaii and don't know anyone else who listens to punk rock, so I guess I have an excuse?
be excellent to one another

Looks like I need to clarify what I meant by my "internet" comment. It wasn't meant to be an adjective, rather a noun.

I did not mean for it to be taken as something akin to "you learned about this from the internet", which I would have thought would have been obvious given the context of my other statements in this thread, the quoted text, and my general aversion towards the "I've been here in hardcore forever" rankings. For further context, I'm listening to Britney Spears' Femme Fatale right now.

It was about the projection of feeling, in this case, some sort of irritation on my part to "something". I was pointing out that this is a bankrupt and ridiculous internet tactic that is so tired I'm surprised anyone even uses it anymore. I can't even imagine during how many fights in my halcyon days that that was pulled out.

I totally quoted you out of context, just continuing with the word, rather than what you had meant by using it.

Also, yes, I totally enjoy a majority of the posters here, looking forward to seeing some of you and maybe talking to a few of you at upcoming shows. I know I've seen a few lurkers, because they wouldn't stop staring at me and saying my name (weird as fuck) at shows... but as long as we don't talk about music then we'll be fine. We can all play magic the gathering and play in our screamo bands in my backyard one day.

It's not bad, it's got some cringe-worthy cheeseball moments, but overall pretty solid. I think the fact that for the first time since I was in high school I can say this about her helps my perception of it:
