So participating in what amounts to a personal indulgence is "doing things" for "the scene"? Look, I'm just going to let this sentiment and the terms you use to be their own retorts.

You didn't address my second question.

i apologize if my wordage is out of date. we musicians aren't as hip to the lingo as we are busy making music.

out of curiosity, what bands have you been in?

or are you merely a fan/critic?

You really like putting your eggs in that desperate, transparent, and routine basket, don't you? Or answering questions.

Seriously, man? You talk like a newjack because you're so busy making music? How much time does this take you? That's not a rhetorical question. It can't be much, as your "wordage" is too up-to-date-but-not-in-on-the-joke, not out of date. And you know, implications from there and so on.

I'm not going to stroke my wookie pelt here in some classless display of elitism, some people around here know who I am and what I've done and how long I've been doing it an all that nonsense and how silly it is for anyone to call me out like you are doing, but to directly answer your question, no, I have been in no bands of note, but neither am I "merely" a fan or critic.

Even if this were the case, this is not only a ridiculous false dichotomy to begin with, but also places you, because of your absolutely mundane act of being in a band (of no notoriety, mind you), above that of the audience. There's no rulebook of hardcore, but if there was, that's on the first page. Furthermore, even if one was "merely" a fan or critic, this would not make you immune to any observations he would make that you personally find uncomfortable.

Of no notoriety? Check the 150,000 listens on last.fm, or the spot on the real screamo page.
I taught Raein how to play beer pong after they opened for us, while you sat on your computer spewing elitist rhetoric about music you have nothing to do with.
Suis La Lune showed me our songs on their ipods when they came through Atlanta.
Who are you?
From where do you get your sense of entitlement?
In what facet are you involved or relevant?

For someone with nothing to show, you have a lot to say about others works.
And I really dont care if I sound like a "new jack". At least I'm something beyond a username.

Pete, I've never thought of you as an asshole until now. This is seriously the lowest I've ever seen two members go on this board. Seriously, are you two fucking kidding me?

Spanky, I Create is one of my favorite bands. Resilience I/Adrift was supposed to be on this list. But seriously, quit jerking off your band and you involvement with the scene. We're all here to discuss the music we like, regardless of who we are or what we've done. The guy who fucking made up the word skramz is here, but he's not sitting around telling us how that makes him more credible, is he? Don't pick fights with the people that (for the most part) want to be your friend.

This is as childish as I've ever seen things get.

It's right up there with The Great Hospice Scare of 2011.

I didn't start this thread and wasn't even part of page 1 of it, so I can't say I was really there for the beginning of it. Once I did catch on I only really posted one comment and it wasn't all that big of a deal, many probably passed over it. So I can't say I "did much" for "this thread". I would like to consider myself an cmhwak poster but probably not an "important" or "crucial" poster I havent taught any top tier cmhwak posters how to play beer pong and no one has come to my house from Europe with any any of my cmhwak posts archived on their mobile Internet devices. Given that I'm mainly just merely a fan and critic of this thread and how stupid funny it's gotten I want to share my critique of others who have posted.

Spanky - you sound like a douchey moron. I've never heard of your band I Create. I can say this though your band has a shitty name. You must be a professional musician, I can only assume this because you apparently spend a fuck load of time creating music. Does your band sound like Pantera? Pantera was a professional musical group from my state, you may have heard of them. If you do sound like Pantera that rules if you don't your band probably sucks. by the way 150,000 plays is good for such a hard working professional band, but Pantera has over 39,000,000 plays so it looks like y'all have alot of catching up do. Since your band only has .3 percent of the plays Pantera has I will assume I Create is only .3 percent as good as Pantera and .3 percent as good as Pantera is pretty crappy. Any way let's get to how you sound like real ass hole that talks about boring/shitty bands like PBTT and Sohns and how you're ears are mature. I would assume your mature ears would notice that bands like PBTT and Sohns are both not only stale and not progressing any genres musically but have little relevance when it comes to talking about good music, mainly because both of those bands are watered down boring crap. Your a real gerp and need to find a new forum to try and sound cool, relevant or important on. Fuck off dweeb.

Pete > you - I not only acknowledge and respect your feelings on how g-beat has matured and the artistic merit the entire genre brings to the table but also agree with you 100% that Spanky sounds like a new jack. I'm going to assume a man with discerning taste like yours feels as strongly about Pantera being a great band, and I Create only being about .3 % as good as Pantera.

Alec - you left Yaphet Kotto off your list, and that is unforgivable.

The rest of the posters have been keepin it real and should carry on, kudos!

Think about it this way if Phil Anselmo was in your Biology class and made a 100 on a test and you tried really hard but still only made .3 of a point on that test you would be more than just a failure you would be a complete and utter failure, most would say that you wasted your time even trying. Bummer...

This would be reserved for someone of importance. As best I can tell you seem to just be just some clueless newjack, so you'd actually be beneath this insult.

Apologies if I am mistaken.
New to the site. Far from new to the music.
In fact, I'm fairly certain I've done more musically for this scene then most members here, unless Billy Werner is lurking around.
It's just my opinion that EVERY band should be given an unbiased listen before they are blasted on the internet.
i can vouch for this dude being a legit bro. i <3 i create. pete is also a legit bro.

now everyone relax.
