Seriously, 9 was one of the best ff's ever (tied with tactics, which TOTALLY counts ;) )
and squall was waaaay too much of a whiny bitch.
What!? FF9 was just another game for me, whereas FF8 used to be a nice little world I could escape into~

Anyone here played Shenmue by the way?
Always wanted to, but I didn't have a dreamcast :(

Haha, my love for ff9 prolly comes from the fact that it was the first "real" game I ever played back in the day. That, and chrono cross, ff4, ff7, and most of all ff tactics were my favs as a wee little child. I always thought ff9 had more of a well developed world with characters that I could really relate to, or at least not hate (seriously, squall was a biiiiitch). FF8 just didn't have the same immersion . And the npc's in 8 kinda sucked. But 8 was still good in its own rights ;)
I still have a Dreamcast around here somewhere, it's broken though ):
And I never even got the original Shenmue, only watched the DVD that came with shenmue 2 for the xbox.
FF8 was the first Final Fantasy I played, that's why I probably love THAT one so much P:

Another game that has a special little place in my memory is Mystical Ninja starring Goemon for the n64, it's just so odd, crazy and AWESOME. The music is just orgasmic.

I play Anarchy Online. I haven't logged in for a few months now because I've been too busy to play.

Anyone play the Persona games? Persona 3 and 4 are my favorite games of all time. I just got P3P and its awesome.

Also, Persona is skram as fuck. Alessa has a song referencing Persona 2 and my old band's name was a P4 reference.

never heard of persona so i looked it up.

why does almost everything from japan involve people from highschool? it was never cool to begin with and now it is just far beyond overused.

pretty much everything from japan with a story is just god awful - anime, horror, video games etc. japan is a cool place but damn.

Yesssss I've beaten persona 3&4 100%. And Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne 100%. I started playing the devil summoner games but I made friends instead.

Also matt no one plays persona for the storyline. Its all about the combination system, weapon making and difficult battles(in nocturne at least). For the most part the games sell to American kids who wish they were Japanese for some weird reason or another but then they realize its actually hard and return it..

dude, final fantasy tactics is my favorite game of all time. i am emotionally connected to that game in many ways. there's a narrators song about it. i can't even begin to explain how much i love it. glad to see some love for it. i am actually working on chrono cross now but am finding it quite repetitive. i still haven't beat the first disk : /.
